Who we are
Eco de l’Ouest is operated by 9412-7040 Québec inc. in Dorval, Quebec. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and what you can do about it, as required by Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).
What we collect
When you use our contact form: your name, email address, street address, what you are interested in and anything you choose to write. When you subscribe to our newsletter: your email address.
We do not use cookies. We count visits with Plausible Analytics, which sets no cookies and collects no personal information: it tells us only how many people visit each page, in total.
Why we use it
To reply to you, plan and quote your project, book a consult, tour or workshop, and, only if you subscribed, send our monthly email. We never sell or rent your information.
Who can see it
Only the two people who run Eco de l’Ouest. Our website forms are processed by Formspree, a form service that stores submissions in the United States, and then delivered to our email account. Newsletter addresses are kept by Buttondown, our email-sending service, which stores them in the United States and asks you to confirm by email before adding you. The site itself is hosted by Netlify, whose servers keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to run the site and keep it secure. Plausible Analytics stores its visit counts in the European Union. Each of these services is bound to keep your information confidential.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted after two years. Client records are kept as long as the law requires for tax purposes. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link in every email.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. You can also file a complaint with the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Contact
The person in charge of the protection of personal information is Ian Capstick, co-owner. Reach him at bonjourhi@secretagents.ca or through the contact form on our home page.
